How to remove yourself from Spokeo
Name-based profiles aggregating public records, contact details (phones, emails, addresses), relatives, and social/username matches; also separate address, phone, email and username listings.

What you'll need
- Exact Spokeo listing URL (one per listing)
- Email address for verification link
- CAPTCHA
- No account, payment, phone call or ID required
Step by step
- Search your name on spokeo.com and open the listing that is you; copy the URL from the address bar (format like https://www.spokeo.com/John-Smith/State/City/1234567890).
- Go to https://www.spokeo.com/optout and scroll to the 'Opt Out Your Listing from Spokeo' section.
- Paste the listing URL into the 'Enter URL here' box.
- Enter your email address (used only to verify the removal).
- Complete the 'I'm not a robot' CAPTCHA and submit.
- Open the confirmation email from Spokeo and click the link at the bottom to complete the removal.
- Repeat for every other listing URL that shows your information.
Tips and gotchas
- Each listing URL is removed separately; Spokeo support asks you to 'include the URLs for all listings to be removed' when contacting them.
- If the URL contains 'purchase' or '&loaded=1' the form rejects it; re-run the search in an incognito window to get a clean listing URL.
- Address and phone listings themselves cannot be removed; opting out your person profile removes your name from those address/phone listings.
- Only expunged or sealed criminal court records can be removed.
- If the form errors, try an incognito window, or email privacy@spokeo.com with all listing URLs and any error codes.
Will it stay removed?
Unconfirmed from a Spokeo source. Spokeo's help center attributes listings that still appear after removal to browser cache and says to clear cookies/cache and search again.
